Road Trip

Sorry for my lack of blogging in the last few days. I have been away at a competition all weekend with the horses.

We all (Me, Sis, Dad, Mum and my sis bf - Harry) set of on Friday to Wales for a 3 day showjumping competition. Typical glorious sunshine all week and the day we leave rain.  So here are some pics of our long, fun, tiring, hectic weekend. Sorry for there not being that many pics, to busy running around being number 1 groom to my sister.

And we are off

Evens & Peel Detective Agency

Last night me and C caught up over drinks and dinner. When we made the plans at the weekend, C mentioned that she had been dying to go to this placed she had heard about and managed to get a reservation for Tuesday. Great lets go.

Evens and Peel Detective Agency is located in a basement at Earls Court with a 1920's theme to it. Its a bar and 'resturant' (use that term loosely).
They are big on being 'secretive' and are a bit fun with checking in for your appointment. First of you have to be buzzed in, then once you are greeted by the lovely lady behind her desk (all dressed in 1920's attire) you present your 'case'.  "Under what name did you book the appointment?" "Tell me something about your  case?" You can take the foreplay are far as you like, its quite fun actually we went prepared with our case.  Once you have presented your case they take you through a secret passage and you enter into the bar and restaurant, and all the role play ends!

C discretly getting us in!

Its very romantic once you are inside, think me and C were the only ones not on a date.

As I mentioned briefly, you don't come here for the food it's ok more of a tapas style but its ok not the best food in the world, I wouldn't go there specifically for the food.  But the cocktails are a whole new level. That I would go back for just the cocktails. They are divine. Definitely go there for either pre dinner or after drinks. Its a place you have to experience at least once, for the fun part at the beginning and the cocktails.

We went for the prawns, wedges, lamb and mac and cheese.

C on her 5th wobbly ..... couldn't remember the second part to the cocktail, may have something to do with this one being our 5th and not last?

How cute it the water for the table.

The desk where we were greeted upon arrival.

If you fancy checking this place out, which I highly recommend for drinks, you can prob turn up on a week day, but weekend definitely book in advanced, just give them a call or drop them a email. Link

Alice House

Hope you are all having a good Easter weekend and that the Easter bunny bought you lots of Eggs. As you can see I was spoilt this year (never too old for Easter eggs)

On Friday the start of our wonderful 4 day bank holiday weekend (one of the best weekends I think we all look forward too - who doesn't look forward to a 4 day weekend?) anyway to kick start the weekend I visited my good friend Claire who lives in London. She had booked us into the very popular Alice House which was just down the road from her. Claire lives in West Hampstead - Alice house is located on the high street, there is also one in Queens Park.

Alice House is a sexy, glamorous and intimate dinning experience, vintage chic. Its on trend, where everyone wants to be, relaxed dinning. Great atmosphere and ambiance, plus amazing cocktails and food.

The cocktails are innovative and amazing, they have sharing cocktails which come in these cool tea pots and jars for glasses.

So I have to confess that me and Claire were so hungry that I totally forgot to take a picture till it was to late. We both went for the classic cheese and bacon burger with thick cut chips. It was divine and the marmalade relish that went with it was delicious. I highly recommend this place for a place to catch up with friends or hangout for a few relaxed cocktails. They do have a bar downstairs called the 'den', but unfortunately it was hired out for a private party when I was there, so not sure whats it like.

Hope you have a relaxed Monday recovering from the long but fun weekend.
