Last night me and C caught up over drinks and dinner. When we made the plans at the weekend, C mentioned that she had been dying to go to this placed she had heard about and managed to get a reservation for Tuesday. Great lets go.
Evens and Peel Detective Agency is located in a basement at Earls Court with a 1920's theme to it. Its a bar and 'resturant' (use that term loosely).
They are big on being 'secretive' and are a bit fun with checking in for your appointment. First of you have to be buzzed in, then once you are greeted by the lovely lady behind her desk (all dressed in 1920's attire) you present your 'case'. "Under what name did you book the appointment?" "Tell me something about your case?" You can take the foreplay are far as you like, its quite fun actually we went prepared with our case. Once you have presented your case they take you through a secret passage and you enter into the bar and restaurant, and all the role play ends!
C discretly getting us in!
Its very romantic once you are inside, think me and C were the only ones not on a date.
As I mentioned briefly, you don't come here for the food it's ok more of a tapas style but its ok not the best food in the world, I wouldn't go there specifically for the food. But the cocktails are a whole new level. That I would go back for just the cocktails. They are divine. Definitely go there for either pre dinner or after drinks. Its a place you have to experience at least once, for the fun part at the beginning and the cocktails.
We went for the prawns, wedges, lamb and mac and cheese.
C on her 5th wobbly ..... couldn't remember the second part to the cocktail, may have something to do with this one being our 5th and not last?
How cute it the water for the table.
The desk where we were greeted upon arrival.
If you fancy checking this place out, which I highly recommend for drinks, you can prob turn up on a week day, but weekend definitely book in advanced, just give them a call or drop them a email. Link
