A Must Read

Whilst I was out having dinner with my friend last night, we were discussing great reads and what sort of books we like to read. It led me to remember an amazing book I had read a few years ago that I had to tell my friend. After giving her the blurb she couldn't wait to order it and start reading, and I couldn't wait to start reading it again too.

The book is called; Ghosts by Daylight: A Memoir of War and Love By Janine Di Giovanni.

Here is an insight to what is inside this amazing, moving, loving, thrilling and well written book. It is unbelievable that this is someones true life; Janine and Bruno first fell in love as young reporters in the besieged city of Sarajevo. Years later - after endless phone calls, much of what the French call malentendu, secret trysts in foreign cities, numerous break-ups, three miscarriages, countless stories of rebel armies and a dozen wars that had passed between them - they arrive in Paris one rainy January to begin a new life together. A searing, profoundly moving love letter, beautifully written, Ghosts by Daylight is a powerfully raw portrait of marriage and motherhood in the aftermath of war.

I cannot recommend this book enough. You will read it within days as you wont want to stop. If you are not a believer in love and the one by the end of this you will be, plus have tissues to hand.
