This weekend again was a busy one for me. This time of year, the start of Summer and all the way through Summer seems to be when everything is and it just goes by so quickly. I don't think I have a quite time to spare at all. Though I won't complain I love it.
So this weekend was a celebratory one for us. Its my Grandmas Birthday next weekend the same day as Fathers Day, as we are unable to go down next weekend my Dad (his mum) suggested that this weekend we were all free to go down and celebrate both my Grandmas Birthday and Fathers Day.
Off we (me, my sister, Mum and Dad) went to the Cotswold's for a fun weekend and a glorious one for weather it was too.
Of course my Grandma couldn't wait to open her pressies even though it's a week too early, but hey we are all kids inside and just can't wait.
I got her some amazing hand cream by Caudalie which I highely recommend, Jo Malone's Lip balm again a must in my handbag, along with body wash from Jo Malone which just smells divine, plus a hand and arm massage at Jo Malone. She loved it :)
My Grandparents garden is amazing, so colourful and full of nature, just beautiful to look at. It reminds me of Beatrix Potter when I help them with there fruit and veg patches. Plus being in the countryside adds that extra pizazz.
The front garden is the allocated place where we play about, which is an often occurrence. Many childhood memories here.
Never to young to have a play about.
This game was insanely addictive. Its a foam ball with elastic attached to it, like those Pilate bands you stretch with. You hold that bit and fling the ball in the air, which goes a lot higher then any of us were anticipating the first time we witnessed it, and the aim is to catch it. A lot harder then it appears or you think it is. Lets just say will all eventually got involved.
After building up a sweat playing, we decided to go for a walk as it was just a glorious day. I love walking about the countryside, especially in the Cotswold's as it is such a beautiful place.
Once we got back, we all thought we deserved a drink. A nice ice cold glass of Champagne hit the spot nicely.
Of course you can't not have the perfect mix when it's this hot, Ice Cream and Champagne is the best mix. You should try it. Go on you know you want to.
After relaxing for a bit enjoying the sunshine it was down to the main deal. Saturday night, we (me, my Sister, Mum and Dad) were cooking for our Grandparents as one of the things for my Grandmas birthday and Papa for Fathers Day.
We were Cooking Nigella's Sausage Meat Balls.
I made Apple Crumble.
So at the finale of dishing up, it got all a bit hectic and I couldn't wait to get stuck in, I forgot to take a picture of the final product. But I can safely say it was delicious. We served the meatballs with spaghetti and homemade garlic bread.
For the reciepe Nigella's Meatballs
The crumbel well is faultless. Can't beat a classic Apple Crumble.
On Sunday my parents were treating my Grandparent's (Dad's Parents) to dinner. We also invited My Aunty (Dad's Sister) Uncle and two Cousin's - Brandon (12yrs) and Meadow (7yrs).
We decided on going to somewhere we have never been, plus on Sundays not many places are open in Cheltenham. We decided on Brasserie Blanc.
Dads Elvis impression.
The food was Ok not amazing, service a bit slow. But we all had fun which is the main thing and the layout, decor and ambiance is great.
I thought I will leave you with my Aunties Pointer today Chester. A very regall chap, only 2yrs, he likes a good Apple core to lick and chew on :)
Hope you are all enjoying the wonderful sunshine we are having here in the UK, and for those every where else, hope you all have lovely weather too.
Jo XOXO
